Deck Nine and Square Enix, who have been responsible for developing and publishing the prequel to the massively popular 2015 episodic graphic adventure game Life is Strange called Life is Strange: Before the Storm recently announced that the prequel will be getting a bonus episode release. The bonus episode has been titled “Farewell”.
The bonus episode takes place before the events of Before the Storm and will let players play the game as Max Caulfield, who was the protagonist in the original Life is Strange game and allow them to access new areas of the Arcadia Bay, the city in which the events of the game take place.
The “Farewell” bonus episode will not be available to everyone however. Only the players who have purchased the deluxe edition of the game will be able to play the bonus chapter.
Players can also purchase one of either the Limited Edition and the Vinyl Edition. The Limited Edition of Farewell will retail for $50 and will include all episodes of Life Is Strange: Before the Storm plus a CD of the soundtrack and an art book. The Vinyl Edition on the other hand will include all the aforementioned goodies plus a mix tape mode in the game, the Outfit Pack and the game’s soundtrack on Vinyl.
The Unity developed game received great reviews and acclaim and proved to be a worthy prequel to the original Life is Strange. Farewell’s description reads as follows:
“As Chloe and Rachel’s family life continues to crumble, their friendship blossoms and the two girls discuss running away together, but before they can go, Chloe gets involved with an errand for Frank Bowers which puts her in a dangerous situation and exposes an uglier side to Arcadia Bay…”
The bonus chapter of Life is Strange: Before the Storm will come out on the 9th of March 2018 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC via Steam.
