ELEAGUE Major Boston Day 4 : Astralis And Gambit Eliminated On The Final Day

Day 4 of the ELEAGUE Major: Boston has come to an exciting end, and the eight teams advancing to the playoffs have been decided.

The final day of the Legends Stage saw former Major champions Astralis and Gambit Esports getting eliminated. Team Gambit were eliminated after losing to SK Gaming on Overpass 16-10 and Fnatic on Mirage 16-2, while Astralis were taken out by Cloud9 on Train 16-6. Fnatic, SK, and C9 qualified for the playoffs with some close matches.

Earlier in the day, Quantum Bellator Fire and Natus Vincere managed to qualify for the Champion stage. QBF mounted an almost unreal comeback from 13-2 to 16-14 to earn their spot in the Major playoffs. Kvik and Boombl4 were their star performers as kvik managed an impressive 28 kills followed by booml4 who ended up with 24 kills. Na’Vi, on the other hand, beat Fnatic on Inferno 16-7, with “Edward” and “flamie” leading the charge with 25 kills each. Mousesports held their nerves to grab the last playoff spot after beating Space Soldiers on Mirage 16-13.

Other teams that were eliminated on the last day include BIG, Team Liquid, and Vega Squadron. BIG went home after a shocking defeat against Space Soldiers, while Team Liquid also suffered the same fate in their own 1-2 elimination match against Vega Squadron on Inferno, which ended at 16-12. However, Vega the CIS underdogs, couldn’t find the momentum they had in previous matches during the Major, losing to C9 16-4 in a 2-2 Mirage matchup.

The full list of teams headed to the playoff stage includes C9, SK, Fnatic, QBF, Mouz, Na’Vi, G2 Esports and FaZe Clan. These teams are set to go against each other in the final stage of the $1 million Major—the New Champions stage—this weekend from Jan. 26 to 28.
