The Crew 2 is an upcoming racing title published by Ubisoft and developed by French video game developers Ivory Tower. The game serves as a sequel to The Crew which was released in 2014. The game includes an open world environment and also includes a map of the United States albeit on a smaller scale. The game is also known for allowing players to use and control numerous vehicles like cars, boats and planes. It features a multiplayer mode and was directed by Stephane Jankowski.
Story wise, the game follows a racer trying to make their way to the top. Each vehicle has its own mechanics and controls which essentially make gameplay different across all vehicles that are available in the game. There’s a night and day cycle and thanks to the massive map, it will take a player approximately 40 minutes to drive from one side of the map, to the other.
The most talked about feature however, is the ability to switch vehicles in an instant. No menus, no key combos, just one button. This makes the game incredibly interesting as it not only switches the vehicle but also the mechanics of the gameplay associated with the vehicle itself. The game will feature an offline mode unlike its predecessor and in the multiplayer front will allow players to play in cooperative multiplayer mode.
The Crew 2 was announced in May 2017 and is set to come out for Xbox One, PlayStation4 and Windows on 16th March 2017.
